Outstanding Fundraising PROFESSIONAL Award

Leadership and Excellence

About This Award

Each year, AFP honors individuals who, through their hard work and dedication, have enhanced philanthropy in their communities and the world.  The Outstanding Fundraising Executive award spotlights those fundraisers who have done just this.

2019 Winner

Crista Muchmore, UCHealth Memorial Hospital Foundation

Crista was the very first employee hired by the Memorial Hospital Foundation when it was founded in 2001. Her tenure in healthcare philanthropy in southern Colorado is a testament to her expertise and skills. She has successfully navigated the Foundation through many leadership changes, both while fundraising for a city-run entity and currently, as a healthcare system managed by UCHealth, and is responsible for establishing Memorial's annual gala - one of the top fundraising events in southern Colorado each year. She has nurtured long-standing and profitable relationships with both corporate and community donors alike. Crista has a passion for healthcare and education, working collaboratively with other Cheyenne Mountain School District Parents through the Traditions of Excellence Foundation, the Jon D. Williams Cotillion, and as a current board member with Children's Literacy Center. As a 2006 graduate of the Leadership Pikes Peak Signature program, Crista has a vast knowledge of the education, economic development, criminal justice, human services, environment and nonprofit landscapes of the Pikes Peak region. She lends her skills readily to other nonprofit professionals and consistently displays a positive attitude and a willingness to get things done. She is an avid learner, and provides a wealth of historical knowledge in both her professional and volunteer careers.
